Audi Q8 e-tron, the replacement for the brand’s first electric vehicle

Audi has unveiled the Audi Q8 e-tron, the brand’s top-of-the-range electric SUV.

Most traditional manufacturers in this new electric era have had a vehicle that has been the one that has marked the way forward, the beginning of a new era and the Audi e-Tron has been the case of the German brand that has now presented its replacement, the Audi Q8 e-tron.

The Audi e-Tron has been on the market for around four years and has accumulated a total of 150,000 units sold in that period, which set the stage for the launch of the eight all-electric models that Audi currently has on offer. By 2026, Audi will have 20 electric cars.

Audi has decided to abandon the simple e-tron nomenclature and follow the nomenclature it has adopted for its other electric models, i.e. name its combustion counterpart but add the term e-tron at the end, which indicates that it is a 100% electric version.

This decision to opt for this nomenclature is to identify more easily for new users what type of vehicle it is, as Audi has been keeping these nomenclatures for many years for its models.

Obviously, the new Audi Q8 e-tron and its Q8 Sportback e-tron variant will be identifiable as 100% electric models, and not only by the term e-tron, but also by the new front and rear designs with the characteristic Singleframe mask, or the inverted grille and the redesigned rear diffuser fin. In addition, for those who opt for the Edition S line package, the Singleframe grille will be in the same colour as the body.
