Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna praises Tesla for all it is doing in the automotive sector.
Tesla is not the first time that it has received praise from other automotive brands, for example the former CEO of Volkswagen, Herbert Diess has praised Tesla and Elon Musk on several occasions, being for the brand a rival to beat and overcome.
Ford’s CEO has also commented on Tesla’s positive points and now we have to add none other than Ferrari’s CEO, who in a recent interview has praised Elon Musk’s company.
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna spoke about it in an interview with Bloomberg, stating that Tesla has changed a lot of things in the automotive sector and that it has to serve as a wake-up call to more traditional manufacturers.
“Things used to happen very slowly. Tesla shook up the industry and sped up processes and decisions. They were faster and more agile.”
As for whether Tesla can be competition for Ferrari, especially by offering electric cars with great power such as the Tesla Model S Plaid with 1,020 hp or the future Tesla Roadster, the Ferrari CEO in this aspect was very clear, and does not see it as competition, since Tesla is dedicated to making cars to take users from one point to another, while Ferrari creates cars that transmit sensations, emotions and unique experiences to everyone who takes a ride in their vehicles.
The interview also touched on the electrification of the brand, with Ferrari’s CEO stating that the brand will continue to offer alternatives for its customers as long as possible.
“I simply believe that a company like ours cannot impose any choice on customers, and that’s why we will continue to offer a mix of technologies as long as it is feasible”.
