Hyundai’s electric saloon, the IONIQ 6, is a resounding success
On November 9, Hyundai opened the option to reserve the IONIQ 6 First Edition, a special launch edition, in selected European countries.
The special edition was limited to 2,500 units, spread across the European countries that had access to this option, which were Germany, the UK, France, Norway and the Netherlands.
At the time this special version was announced, we warned that everything pointed to it being a success and that anyone who wanted to opt for it and lived in some of the aforementioned countries would have to be very quick.
Now Hyundai has announced that all 2,500 units of the IONIQ 6 First Edition were reserved/sold in less than 24 hours, making it a success.
Ulrich Mechau, Vice President Sales and Service, Hyundai Motor Europe had this to say:
“This extraordinarily high interest and demand for the IONIQ 6 First Edition underlines Hyundai’s leadership in zero-emission mobility. With its aerodynamically sculpted silhouette, extended range and interior that elevates the electric mobility experience for customers, the IONIQ 6 redefines what a car should be. We are confident that European customers will be immediately attracted to our Electrified Streamliner.”
For the Spanish market, we will have to settle for the “normal” versions of the IONIQ 6. Remember that in Italy the price of the IONIQ 6 in all versions has already been published and the starting price is under 50,000 euros.
What the First Edition version of the IONIQ 6 has to offer
If you have been left wanting to know more about this limited First Edition of the IONIQ 6, it does have some special details that make it unique and exclusive, and as we said, there will only be 2,500 units circulating around the world with these “features”.
Aesthetically, it has an exclusive design both inside and out, making it stand out from the rest of the versions. On the other hand, Hyundai has chosen to fit the 77.4 kWh battery (the largest) andtwo electric motors that provide this unit with all-wheel drive (AWD).
In addition to these exclusivities, they will also be the first users to receive the IONIQ 6. This will happen between March and April 2023.
