Jeep Avenger named ‘Car of the Year 2023’.
The winner is in! Finally the vehicle awarding the acclaimed ‘Car of the Year 2023’ title is the Jeep Avenger, from Stellantis, replacing the previous ‘Car of the Year 2022’, the KIA EV6. This year’s winner was announced at a ceremony being held for the first time at the Brussels International Motor Show.
The winner, the Jeep Avenger, received 328 points and 21 votes from the jury. The title is not only a great milestone for Jeep, but also for the Stellantis Group, as it is the first time that the American brand has won this prestigious award, which is also celebrating its 60th edition this year.
As for the other finalists who did not win the title, second place goes to the Volkswagen ID.Buzz, with a total of 241 points and 16 votes. In third place is the Nissan Ariya with a total of 211 points, followed closely by the fourth-placed KIA Niro with 200 points.
The Renault Austral scored 163 points, the Peugeot 408 took sixth place with 149 points and the Subaru Solterra/Toyota bZ4X closed the list with a total of 133 points.
So, for yet another year, the winner of the acclaimed ‘Car of the Year 2023’ title goes to an all-electric car, just like the previous ‘Car of the Year 2022’ winner, which was the KIA EV6. In addition, other popular titles such as ‘World Car of the Year’ have also been the past two years held by an electric car, in 2021 for the Volkswagen ID.4 and in 2022 for the Hyundai IONIQ 5.
