Maxus T90 EV, this is the first electric pickup you can buy in Spain.

Until now there has been no 100% electric pickup available for purchase, but Maxus is taking the plunge with the T90 EV.

In recent years we have seen how some automotive manufacturers have been betting on the pickup segment to offer their customers a 100% electric option.

The most famous case is Tesla with its Cybertruck pickup, although other manufacturers also have electric pickups in their portfolio, such as Ford with the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian with the Rivian R1T or, without going any further, the Hummer EV.

The pickups enjoy great popularity in North America, something we cannot say in Europe, whose market penetration is practically nil and for this reason these pickups have not gone on sale in European countries.

However, Maxus, belonging to the Chinese group SAIC, wanted to be the first to offer an electric pickup for the European market, the Maxus T90 EV.

Getting to know the Maxus T90 EV pickup – performance, price and autonomy

Now it’s time to get to know the Maxus T90 EV, the first 100% electric pickup to be marketed in Europe (including Spain).

As a good pickup, the dimensions are generous, and the Maxus T90 EV has a length of 5,365 mm, a width of 1,900 mm, a height of 1,809 mm and a wheelbase of 3,155 mm. The towing capacity of the Maxus T90 EV is 1,500 kg.

In terms of powertrain, the Maxus T90 EV is powered by an electric motor that generates 130 kW of power ( 177 kW) and a maximum torque of 310 Nm.

Another important aspect is the battery, in this case a battery with a capacity of 88.55 kWh is fitted, which allows a range of 330 km to be approved under the WLTP cycle and in urban use this rises to 471 km.

The maximum charging power of the Maxus T90 EV is set at 80 kW, which allows the battery to be charged from 20 to 80% in about 45 minutes in DC, and in AC with a maximum power of 11 kW the time needed to charge the battery from 5 to 100% is 7.5 hours.

The price of the Maxus T90 EV in Spain is 49,979 euros, so it is eligible for the Moves III Plan, which can deduct up to 9,000 euros, as it is a commercial vehicle and on the condition that a vehicle is scrapped. This makes the Maxus T90 EV an attractively priced pickup for the European market.

Finally, Maxus offers a warranty of 5 years or 100,000 kilometres, while the battery warranty is 8 years or 200,000 kilometres.
