New Renault Kangoo E-Tech, the zero-emission family option

This is the new Renault Kangoo E-Tech electric van for family use.

Renault has announced a new all-electric version of its Renault Kangoo E-Tech van, originally launched in 1997 and with more than 430,000 owners. Renault’s Chief Marketing Officer, Arnaud Belloni, commented:

“25 years ago, Renault revolutionised the automotive industry by inventing the MPV segment with Kangoo.

Today, Kangoo E-Tech Electric offers a modern and practical response to the expectations of increasingly environmentally-conscious families.

With sufficient range to meet most needs, it makes no compromises in terms of practicality and space, while providing greater peace of mind thanks to its quiet engine and numerous practical functions.”

Focusing on space, Renault Kangoo E-Tech has room for five occupants, sliding doors and a boot capacity of 850 litres. In terms of dimensions, the van measures 4.48 metres long, 1.83 metres high and 1.59 metres wide, with a wheelbase of 2.71 metres.

The Renault Kangoo E-Tech electric van is powered by a 90 kW (120 hp) engine. It integrates a 45 kWh battery, which offers a range of 285 kilometres under the WLTP cycle. Fast charging is available, with the manufacturer claiming that 170 km can be recovered in just 27 minutes, with a charging power of 80 kW, requiring 1.5 hours to fully charge the battery.

Through the My Renault APP, different actions can be carried out on the vehicle, such as programming the charge or the vehicle’s climate control, among others. Renault says that with its new family car, the brand “offers a quiet, spacious and practical space to enjoy a getaway together without compromises”.

In addition to the passenger version, Renault previously presented the Kangoo Furgon E-Tech, intended for commercial use. A hydrogen-powered commercial version, Renault Kangoo Z.E., is also available.
