CES 2023 hosts the presentation of the Ram 1500 Revolution electric pickup truck
Many new products are presented annually at the CES in Las Vegas (USA), and this year’s CES 2023 was not going to be any different. One of the most eagerly awaited presentations at the event was that of the all-electric Ram 1500 Revolution pickup, which has been much talked about over the past year and was one of the key announcements at Stellantis when it announced its ‘Dare Forward 2030’ strategy. Ram brand CEO Mike Koval Jr said:
“The Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept is our clearest signal yet that we are on the verge of something extraordinary at Ram and points directly to where we are going on our electrified journey. At Ram, we’ve redefined what trucks can be and we’ll do it again by outperforming what competitors are offering by delivering the best electric trucks on the market.”
So far with shaded images, one of the few pieces of information we had known was that it would arrive in 2024. Now, we have finally been able to see the design of the Ram 1500 Revolution, as well as some of its features. The design of the brand’s first electric pickup represents the future of Ram pickups, according to Stellantis. Koval continued:
“The Ram Revolution represents several important things for the Ram brand. Of course, it is our new Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept that serves as a roadmap for our electrified future. However, Ram Revolution is also our philosophy as we redefine the pickup truck segment, with a steady drumbeat of announcements and initiatives as we embark on our electrified journey.”
Ram’s new face includes an animated, modernised badge and a new animated LED headlight design. The new interior design allows the workspace to be configured with a removable centre console with a fold-down surface. In addition, one of the highlights of the Ram 1500 Revolution electric pickup is that it features folding third-row seats. The Ram 1500 Revolution offers up to 5.5 metres of storage space, as well as a front luggage compartment.
The Ram 1500 Revolution is built on Stellantis’ new STLA Frame architecture, designed specifically for large full-size electric vehicles, and incorporates the battery pack efficiently with aerodynamic underbody panels and active diffuser.
It incorporates two electric motors to provide all-wheel drive, with up to 15 degrees of articulation for greater vehicle manoeuvrability. Its 800V fast-charging technology, up to 350 kW, provides up to 160 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes of charging.
In line with the Group’s strategy, Ram has announced that it will offer electrified solutions in the coming years. They report that the production model will be introduced “in the coming months”, claiming that the Ram 1500 Revolution “will lead the way in a combination of areas that customers care about most: range, towing, payload and charging time”.
