The Suzuki eVX, an all-electric SUV that marks the start of Suzuki’s electric strategy.
While we have seen it explore new technologies such as autonomous and even flying vehicles, it is only now that Suzuki has unveiled its first all-electric model. Called the Suzuki eVX, it is a modern-looking SUV that marks a before and after in the brand’s electrification journey.
The Suzuki eVX has been officially unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 being held in Delhi, India. At the moment, it is a concept, with aplanned market launch in 2025. President Suzuki said:
“I am delighted to introduce the eVX, our first global strategic EV. At the Suzuki Group, tackling global warming is a priority. We are promoting a variety of global measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Suzuki will continue to bring valuable products to our customers around the world by optimising them for the way different people live and drive.
At this stage, and without final specifications, the Suzuki eVX measures 4.30 metres long, 1.80 metres wide and 1.60 metres high. It incorporates a 60 kWh battery, with which the brand expects to offer a range of around 550 kilometres in MIDC cycle (Indian homologation).
In its two-wheeler division, it has major partnerships with Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki as ‘Gachaco’, but no electric motorbike yet. Suzuki’s first electric car, therefore, marks a before and after for the brand.
