Neither the Tesla Model S Plaid, nor the Bugatti Chiron, nor the Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 can match the Lucid Air Saphire.
Lucid Motors can boast of making what could be the world’s fastest mass-produced car, the Lucid Air. Specifically the Lucid Air Sapphire.
The Sapphire version of the Lucid Air electric saloon is the most powerful option currently offered by Lucid Motors to its customers. The power output of the Lucid Air Sapphire is 1,200 hp.
But what better than to put the data down on paper and put it to the test in conditions such as a 1/4 mile race alongside the cars that are currently considered to be the most powerful in the world, such as the Tesla Model S Plaid with 1,000 hp or the Bugatti Chiron with 1,600 hp. But if this were not enough, it also faces the Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 motorbike (215 hp).
This test has been carried out by the Youtube channel Hagerty and we leave you below.
The result is really overwhelming, none of the three vehicles are able to get close to the Lucid Air Sapphire, perhaps only the Tesla Model S Plaid keeps it in line in the first meters but it doesn’t take long to get rid of it.
As for the Lucid Air Sapphire’s test data, they are truly fantastic.
0 to 100 km/h takes just under 2 seconds. Reaching 160 km/h (100 mph) from zero is under 4 seconds and the 1/4 mile time is under 9 seconds.
As you can see, this is a real electric beast, even though it is a saloon, but it is also true that nowadays many people prefer to have more range in their electric cars than excessive power, as, frankly, you won’t be able to take advantage of it on a day-to-day basis. Even so, it doesn’t take away from demonstrating to many people that electric cars can be much more powerful, faster and more fun than a petrol car, don’t you think?
